No. Most people who come to us don't have one yet. You tell us what's slow, what's breaking, or what's costing you time. We figure out the rest.
How long does it take to get started?
The AI Scan takes five minutes. After that, we book a 30-minute call;, usually within a few days. From call to proposal is typically a week. From proposal to build starting depends on scope, but we don't sit on things.
What does the first call look like?
Thirty minutes. You tell us about your business and what's been on your mind. We ask questions, tell you honestly whether we think we can help, and if it makes sense, we outline what a first engagement would look like.
Is there a minimum project size?
We don't publish a minimum. What we do say: if the scope is very small, consultancy is usually the right starting point. It's scoped, priced, and fast to say yes to; and it tells both sides whether there's a bigger project worth pursuing.
What does a typical project look like?
Every Build engagement starts with The Map; we spend time inside your operations, document what's happening, and identify the highest-impact AI opportunity. Then we build it. Scope is agreed upfront. Deliverables are clear. Nothing runs indefinitely.
How long does a project take?
A focused build runs three to six weeks. More complex implementations with multiple systems or integrations can go to ten or more. We tell you the realistic timeline before any work starts and we don't extend scope without telling you why.
What tools and models do you use?
Whatever fits. We're not tied to any vendor. The model, the infrastructure, the integration layer; all of it is chosen based on what works best for your existing stack and your budget. No lock-in.
Do you work with our existing systems or replace them?
Usually both. We build AI on top of what you already have where we can. When something genuinely needs replacing, we say so and scope it separately. We don't recommend rebuilding things that don't need rebuilding.
What's included in a Build?
The AI Mapping, the build itself, documentation, team training, and 30-day adoption tracking. We don't hand over a system and disappear. We measure whether your team is using it; and if they're not, we fix it.
Can we just do training without a build?
Yes. Train is available as a standalone service. Some teams want to get better at using AI tools they already have. We run workshops for that; on-site or online, tailored to your actual workflows.
How much does it cost?
Projects start from $8,000 - complex builds are scoped individually. Train starts from $2,000 per day. Resident™ starts from $4,000 per month. Every engagement is scoped before it's priced. The numbers above are starting points; the first call will tell us both what makes sense.
How do you charge - fixed or hourly?
Fixed. Every project is scoped and priced before work starts. You know what you're getting and what it costs. We don't bill by the hour because it creates the wrong incentives for everyone.
What is Resident™?
A monthly retainer where Hephon operates as your ongoing AI function. We maintain what's been built, identify new opportunities as your business grows, and handle AI decisions before they become expensive mistakes. It's what a senior AI hire would do; without the full-time cost or commitment.
Can we stop Resident™ if it's not working?
Yes. 30 days notice. Everything we've built and documented stays with you. No lock-in, no penalty.
Do you require a long-term commitment upfront?
No. Most clients start with AI consultancy or a scoped Build. Resident™ comes after; once the system is live and the relationship makes sense. Nobody commits to everything before they've seen us work.
What if we're not happy with the result?
We've built 30-day adoption tracking into every project specifically to catch this. If the system isn't being used or isn't working the way it should, we know before you have to tell us. We fix it. That's part of the scope.
